Overview

The High-Voltage Cable Branch Box is an outdoor distribution cabinet used to split a high-voltage cable run into several outgoing branches. It is supplied in European and American style configurations to suit different cable connection practices and network layouts.

The enclosure is fully sealed and fully insulated, so no separate insulation distance is required inside the box. All high-voltage live parts are covered by silicone rubber or EPDM prefabricated cable connectors, which keeps live conductors out of reach during normal operation.

The cabinet body is fabricated from 2 mm metal steel plate or stainless steel plate with an anti-corrosion design and a protective paint finish. This construction is intended for outdoor all-weather operation in high temperature, severe cold, flood immersion and high dust areas, with a service life of 30 years or more.

Key Features

  • Fully sealed and fully insulated — no insulation distance is required, and all high-voltage live parts use silicone rubber or EPDM prefabricated cable connectors for personal safety.
  • Outdoor all-weather structure — full-protection enclosure suitable for high temperature, severe cold, flood immersion and high dust areas.
  • Corrosion-resistant cabinet — 2 mm metal steel plate or stainless steel plate with anti-corrosion design and special painting treatment, giving a service life of 30 years or more.
  • Up to seven outgoing branches — the flexible combination allows the number of outgoing branches to reach seven, covering a wide range of wiring requirements.
  • Ring network capability — can be combined with SF6 load switches to form a ring network power supply.
  • Pluggable cable joint — the cable joint can be used as a switch and plugged in or out under load, breaking up to 200 A load current.
  • Fault indication — after a fault indicator is installed, circuit faults can be identified quickly.
  • Compact and low investment — small floor area, easy installation and convenient operation, which reduces cable length and building area requirements.

FAQ

What is a high-voltage cable branch box used for?

It splits a high-voltage cable run into several outgoing branches. It is used at cable branching points in outdoor distribution networks where a single supply cable must feed multiple directions.

What is the difference between the European and American styles?

The two styles differ in cable connection practice and layout. The European style and the American style are both available, and the correct one depends on the cable type and the network arrangement used in your project.

How many outgoing branches can it provide?

The flexible combination allows the number of outgoing branches to reach seven.

Can it be operated in harsh outdoor environments?

Yes. The outdoor all-weather, full-protection structure is suitable for high-temperature, severe cold, flood immersion and high-dust areas. The 2 mm steel or stainless steel cabinet uses an anti-corrosion design with a special paint finish and a service life of 30 years or more.

Can the cable joint be plugged in under load?

Yes. The cable joint can be used as a switch, pluggable with load, and can break a 200 A load current.

Can it form a ring network supply?

Yes. The branch box can be combined with SF6 load switches to form a ring network power supply, meeting various wiring requirements.

Does it require a separate insulation distance?

No. Because the structure is fully sealed and fully insulated, no separate insulation distance is required inside the box.
